Another Saturday, another hike in the park!  We were all a little tired and grumpy so we opted for a shorter(3.5 mile) easy hike.  We choose the Heron Pond/Swan Lake loop at Colter Bay.  It was a really nice trail, wide and shady with lots of wildlife to see.  I'd like to go back later this summer and do the longer 8 mile hike to Hermitage Point.  Enjoy the pictures.

 Baby Geese!

 Really nice, old growth forrest.

Getting grumpy that my hiking app wasn't working as it should.

He's getting really good with his binoculars.

 Another day, another deer!

Last week of Preschool, and leeps in independence

Busy week.  Sul finished up at preschool and it was not as painful as I had thought it would be.  He seems to be taking it really well.  Now we start the summertime endurance marathon!

 Pretty normal occurrence actually.

ELI CRAWLING??? --Hell no.
 I'm going for it!
 Nah.
 OK! I'll go for it!
 Nah!

Oh well, at least he's adorable!

SULLY MAKES HIS OWN BREAKFAST

He woke me up really early demanding that I watch him make his own breakfast.  Pretty funny stuff, and he did a good job of it too.

Yay Sully!

Sully's Preschool Birthday Party

Its the last week of preschool (gulp), so his class celebrated his upcoming birthday early today.  Nothing like feeding 10 preschoolers cake at 10 in the morning. (Ms. Kara is a rockstar).

KA-CHOW.  This was much easier than last year's version which involved enough red food coloring to give everyone who ate it brain damage.

 The special Birthday Hat!

Ms. Kara, not afraid to contend with preschoolers high on cake

 Reggie wants some.

 Eli wearing the hat

Blowing out the candles while his friends sing to him.

Looks like the cake was a hit.

Cold, Lazy Day

Today we we're a bit lazy in our hiking.  I needed a light one after a week of recovering from Phelps and Snow King.  I gave Sully the choice between seeing a Beaver Dam or a Lava Rock that landed nearby in a cataclysmic volcanic explosion a million years ago.  He had a hard time deciding but the Beaver Dam won by a hair.

The hike was more of a stroll.  Pretty views but no challenge.  That's okay because today was sort of cold and gloomy.  After the beaver damn excursion we decided to hike to the Geraldine Lucas  Homestead. (another really easy hike) again.  There we found a shed that was locked up tight the last time we were there, open so we took a peak inside.  Lots of neat old stuff in there.

Enjoy the week!

NIFTY THINGS FROM THE PAST

How long does it take white vinegar to turn to black sludge?

I picture myself stripping wood in such a sunny dress

Unopened jar of smuckers that had turned to black ooooze

These look more creepy then they were.  The picture was actually really adorable.

Short hike, but he still passed out in the car with "Uncle" (cousin) Harry
