A day at the beach

Our dear Brother in Law, James was kind enough to let Team Solis tag along on his Surfing trip to Rockaway beach today. This was the 2nd time we went, but the first time the batteries on the camera died and we forgot to bring extra.

It was surprisingly warm at the beach, (although as you can see, we bundled Sullivan up to be toasty warm) I get awfully giddy going to the beach, having grown up in Maine and then moving to the Mountains for 12 years and missing it terribly. Sullivan loves it too, it must be in the DNA.

Long Johns, jeans, thermal onsie, fleece lined hoodie, fall coat, winter windbreaker coat, fleece hat = one toasty toddler.

This picture almost makes me love the Cushman nose

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving went really well this year. It seemed as though everything worked out really well and there was no stress or disasters in the kitchen, as though we all finally know what to do on to make a really excellent meal. Julie made the point that its probably because our time management skills are so good now due to herding toddlers all day long.

Daisy and Sully had a great time too. Daisy, the picky eater mowed down on all the food, and Sully the messy food throwing maniac, sat at the table like a dignified big boy. Daisy declared that , besides MaMa and DaDa, she is thankful for Elmo, while Sully declared he is most thankful for Cars.

It was a really special day.

Daisy helped Julie make the whipped cream for the pies, and Sully was not into it. (he's not a big fan of sweets)

Daisy and Sully

These two kids are magical, I could just eat them both up. They are still too little to really play with each other, so most days its just a matter of getting them to co-exist peacefully and comfortably. They have very different personalities yet they learn a lot from each other, Sully is speaking words I thought we wouldn't hear for months, because he wants to keep up with Daisy, and Sully has inspired the girly Daisy to explore her tomboy side. The first pictures are of them talking on our cell phones, certainly a glimpse into their teenage years. The second group is of them in the bath . I really like the bath pictures because these two are just sooooo gorgeous!
